Tech Writer/Knowledge Base Manager

Cupertino, CA

Our executive team is comprised of well-seasoned veterans from companies like Revenue Science, Right Media, Time Warner/AOL and Yahoo.

We are looking for someone to create a documentation system and process. This position will ensure that both customers and internal end-users have accurate and highly-accessible documentation to support their needs. Included but not limited to a Knowledge Base.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a documentation system and set of processes which enable efficient tracking and managing across multiple departments
  • Work closely with Engineering, Services, Marketing and Sales to create proper organizational structures, taxonomies, and themes for various documentation efforts
  • Evolve, manage, mediate/host an online wiki-based documentation system that’s highly collaborative among internal contributors, reviewers, and stakeholders
  • Create original content, including how-to guides and in-depth descriptions of complex products
  • Create internal and external training materials to help ensure our employees and customers can be as self sufficient as possible
  • Work with Program Management and Engineering to develop externally facing documentation describing features
  • Support BlueKai Buyer and Data Provider documentation

The ideal candidate profile will include the following credentials:

  • A strong understanding of Web technology, marketing strategy, product development, advertising, lead generation, and the media ecosystem
  • 5+ years experience in a key technical documentation role, supporting complex enterprise software systems
  • Experience with managing a wiki-based documentation system
  • Experience using Visio (or a similar cross-platform tool)
  • Customer and end-user focused
  • Very smart and a quick learner
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to translate and effectively communicate highly complex and analytical data to non-technical professionals
  • Excellent project management, organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage many moving pieces
  • Ability to work in startup environment
  • BA or BS degree required

Client Service Manager

Cupertino, CA or New York, NY

Our executive team is comprised of well-seasoned veterans from companies like Yahoo/Right Media, AOL/Time Warner, and AudienceScience.

We are looking to grow our Client Services team in California and New York City. You will be working closely with the Client Services team as well as Sales Analytics, and Engineering resources in the CA office and Product and Marketing resources in our New York and Bellevue, WA offices. The goal of the Client Services team is to drive client adoption, retention and growth. You will be reporting to the Director of Client Services.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with the Client Services team to create an effective and scalable client management practice
  • Manage current and new clients in the data and advertising ecosystem
  • Prospect and enable revenue growth throughout the BlueKai installed base
  • Build adoption of the the BlueKai data platform throughout the BlueKai West Coast client base
  • Take ownership of your book of business to drive value for your clients and adoption of BlueKai's products and services
  • Provide client feedback to the sales, product and technology teams

Education and Experience

  • 4-year undergraduate degree
  • 3-6 years work experience with at least 2-4 years in the industry required
  • The ability to work independently in a geographically distributed organization with multiple teams

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have strong computer and Internet skills (including Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Travel throughout the region as needed

Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Cupertino, CA

Our executive team is comprised of well-seasoned veterans from companies like Audience Science, Right Media, Time Warner/AOL and Yahoo.

We are looking for someone who can develop, execute and manage new products and product marketing in alignment with corporate marketing for all BlueKai Exchange offerings. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think deeply and strategically about an industry and translate that thought into discrete actionable plans, products, and positioning.

Job Summary

Responsible for external marketing, training, and communication of all BlueKai products. Develop and manage go-to-market strategy for new and existing products. Support sales and client services by developing expertise in BlueKai products and services. Represent BlueKai products at various industry events, tradeshows, and BlueKai events. Own evaluation and reporting of product success indicators and metrics to the Executive Team. This position reports to the Vice President of Product Marketing.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide sales support in RFP responses as necessary or presentation customization
  • Assist in roll-out and conduct training for new product releases
  • Represent BlueKai as product expert at events and sales meetings.
  • Gather and organize product feedback and industry trends as input for product development
  • Analyze and track competitive threats and trends within the industry and provide Strategic evaluation
  • Develop and communicate externally facing documentation describing value proposition and features of BlueKai products.
  • Work with Program Management and Engineering to develop new product specifications and to prioritize incoming product requests

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate profile will include the following credentials:

  • At least 2+ years of relevant consulting, investment banking or product development experience in the digital media or advertising space, with preferably an additional year of direct experience related to buying, selling, or developing on-line media products.
  • Strong execution abilities and positive outlook for working with external partners and customers
  • The candidate will provide examples of product development; marketing and product planning, driving results as well as innovation and decision making ability
  • A strong understanding of Web technology, marketing strategy, product development, advertising, lead generation, and the media ecosystem
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be passionate & enthusiastic with a "hands on approach."
  • Technical Experience with CS degree or programming experience a plus

Analytics Scientist

Location: California

BlueKai created the first online data exchange designed with consumer transparency and control in mind. By aggregating valuable shopping and research activities across the Internet, BlueKai is building the world's largest marketplace for intent. Unlike ad networks, BlueKai does not sell ads or impressions, it simply provides data on-demand for marketers, ad networks or publishers to boost the quality and scale of ad targeting initiatives.

Here at BlueKai we have already achieved scale with over 400 MM uniques per month and ~600MM interactions per day, as well as a large client and partner base. We are looking for an amazing scientist to join the Analytics team and help us bring additional focus to data quality as well as data-driven products, analysis, and insights.

Qualifications:

  • Incredible critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
  • Applied machine learning, data mining, optimization experience
  • Algorithms as second nature, mathematical thinking, and applied statistics
  • Experience in analyzing and modeling very large datasets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A plus: experience with cloud computing, map reduce, hadoop, pig, ec2
  • Strong engineering skills and strong coding skills (java, python, sql etc)
  • Focused, well-organized, articulate and possessing a superb work ethic.
  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related fields

The position has the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze and model tens to hundreds of terabytes of data at a time
  • Assess, quantify, and improve data quality on the BlueKai Exchange
  • Design and implement scalable intelligent algorithms for analytics products
  • Translate business needs into metric design and implementation, data modeling, product and reporting analytics
  • Build and optimize data processing tools that allow robust and efficient access to data for on-demand analysis
  • Productize research and analytics components

Essential Responsibilities

Internal Reporting

  • Analyze client performance (sales trends, account growth, types of data purchased, etc.)
  • Work closely with Client Services team to develop new reusable dashboard reports to ease account management tasks

Metrics

  • Monitor data campaigns to identify new metrics and performance indicators
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to team
  • Establish metrics "best practices" that can be used across Client Services

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced excel skills a must, SQL experience a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-starter and team player with competitive drive and ability to multi-task
